Meryl Streep Plastic Surgery Before & After
While many celebrities such as Cher and Meg Ryan opt for minor or extensive plastic surgery to maintain their youthful appearance or at least slow down the hands of time, Meryl Streep is unlikely to go under the knife to improve her looks or maintain her looks.
Why would she? While she has lost her youthful appearance, getting older has by no means made her less beautiful. In fact, age has given her face character.
Streep, known to play character roles, states “It is impossible to look twenty when you’re over sixty” and “The good thing about getting older is that when they do cast you, it’s often something interesting – you’re no longer asked to be the beautiful leading lady.”
Playing character roles is something Streep is known for. Who can forget her in ‘Julie & Julia’, ‘Mama Mia’, ‘It’s Complicated’ and her Oscar winning performance of ‘Kramer vs. Kramer’?
In all those roles, Streep was more concerned with giving a splendid performance versus drawing attention to her looks.
More recently Streep starred in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’. While her role might have been the boss from hell, with her silver hair, flattering makeup, and designer outfits, she looked every bit as stunning as a young beauty queen.
The reason Meryl Streep is against plastic surgery might have something to do with the way other celebrities look after having surgical procedures done. Their skin is stretched until they resemble waxed dolls, eyes and brows are lifted causing them to wear a permanent frown, while lip injections cause many to look like a blowfish.
While some celebrities rely on plastic surgery in an attempt to stay young and beautiful, Meryl Streep has come to terms that getting older leaves its marks on ones face and body.
It doesn’t bother her as she doesn’t rely on beauty get be considered for roles. Her track record of superb acting is enough to make her an obvious choice for character roles.
While Meryl Streep obviously knows the value of moisturizing and regular facials, she knows where to draw the line. She sets an example for other celebrities and women in general… age gracefully.
